Hester Street is a non-profit that works with community groups to ensure more equitable urban planning and development. It identified the need to unify its brand and communications to better articulate their mission.
Conducting a brand audit and discovery, we identified opportunities in Hester Street’s existing communications. This manifested into a brand strategy, to better explain the organization’s aim in the different locales it operates.
The updated visual identity includes a logo inspired by the visual language of the street, and indeed its name. The structure and layout of materials are drawn from the vertical lines of an urban landscape, symbolic to Hester Street’s roots in supporting equitable urban space.
